When it comes to the sheer number of esports events, CS:GO has to be the game that features in most of them. Since the release of CS:GO in 2012, almost 70 million dollars has been spent in prize money and other rewards across almost four thousand tournaments. Some of the major tournaments even offer prizes larger than $1m which means players who choose to play on a professional level could see sky-high esports earnings. Andreas Højsleth, more commonly known as Hyp9x within the gaming community, is a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player. Born in Denmark in 1995, he started playing CS:GO on a professional level in 2011, and since then, he has played for numerous teams such as Dignitas, Tea, SoloMid, and most notably, Astralis. Over the years, Andreas Højsleth has become famous for his success rate in clutch situations and has been dubbed by the community as “the clutch minister”. Hyp9x has been ranked among the top 20 best CS: GO players four times since he started playing professionally and is one of six players who have attended all of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Championships.

2. Dupreeh (Peter Rasmussen)

Dupreeh, real name Peter Rasmussen, is a professional CS:GO player from Denmark. He was born in March 1993 and started playing CS:GO on a professional level back in 2012. Dupreeh holds the joint title for the most number of CS:GO major tournament wins and has been ranked as one of the top 20 best players six times.

3. Dev1ce (Nicolai Reedtz)

Nicolai Reedtz, better known as Dev1ce in the gaming community, is a Danish professional CS:GO player and is currently a member of team Astralis. Born in September 1995, Nicolai began his esports career in 2013, and since then, has played for many different teams such as Team SoloMid and Copenhagen Wolves until settling in his latest role as the AWPer of Astralis. He was named the MVP of multiple big events by HLTV as well as ranking within the top 20 best CS:GO players on numerous occasions.

4. Gla1ve (Lukas Rossander)

Coming in at number four is Lukas Rossander who is more commonly known among gamers by the nickname of gla1ve. Born in June 1995 in Denmark gla1ve began his professional Counter-Strike career in 2010 by playing Counter-Strike: Source but transferred to CS:GO in 2012. He has played for numerous teams such as the Copenhagen Wolves but is mostly known as a member of the popular team Astralis. Gla1ve has been ranked the 8th best player in 2018 and was named the MVP of IEM Season XIV - Bejing.

Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip is a 22-year-old professional CS:GO player who was born in the United States in 1998. He began his pro career in 2014 and has made a name for himself as a member of the famous esports organization, Team Liquid. Jacky was named the MVP by HLTV on two occasions during DreamHack Open Denver 2017 and iBUYPOWER Masters 2017.

7. TACO (Epitácio de Melo)

Born in January 1995 Epitácio de Melo, also known as TACO, started his professional Counter-Strike career in 2011 but didn’t become a widely known figure until 2014 as a member of Dexterity Team. Over the next couple of years, he played for a few different teams until finding a spot for himself as a member of MIBR, as well as the Yeah Gaming organization.

8. FalleN (Gabriel Toledo)

Gabriel Toledo de Alcântara Sguario is a Brazilian professional CS:GO player who is probably better known for his gamer tag of FalleN. Born in May 1991, Gabriel began his CS:GO career way back in 2005 as a member of team crashers. In 2006, he moved to CS: Source and eventually to CS:GO in 2013 and has played for many teams such as 5K Gaming and Luminosity Gaming but is mostly known for being a member and AWPer of team MIBR.

He was named the MVP by HLTV on many occasions and was ranked as the best player on Thorin’s top 10 CS:GO players.

10. Fer (Fernando Alvarenga)

Our final spot belongs to yet another Brazilian player, Fernando Alvarenga, more commonly known as fer. Fernando was born in October 1991 and began his professional gaming career in 2011 and while over the years he played for many teams, he is most famous for being a member of team MIBR. Fer was named the MVP of Esports Championship Series Season 3 – Finals by HLTV.
