CS2 Update: New Items in the Armory Pass and More

At the beginning of October 2024, Counter-Strike 2 got a pretty big update. It’s brought lots of new items to the game, including a fresh type of cosmetic: charms. These can be attached to your CS2 weapons. Also, the developers introduced the Armory, a unique battle pass in CS2. It’s a great way to unlock skins.

With all the excitement around these items, we shouldn’t forget about gameplay changes. Movement in CS2 feels different now—it’s somewhat snappier.

Everything about the CS2 Armory update is here!

The Armory: A CS2 Battle Pass

The Armory pass in CS2 is a fresh take on battle passes in other games. You pay for it and participate in a special program, full of rewards.

  • First you need to purchase the CS2 Armory pass on Steam.
  • Then you can just play the game and earn XP in traditional game modes.
  • XP will automatically give you Armory credits.
  • You can get up to 40 credits per pass. It is possible to activate up to five CS2 Armory passes.
  • The credits can be exchanged for various cosmetic items.

CS2 Charms: Make Your Guns Fancier

cs2 charms

It rarely happens that Valve adds something so new to Counter-Strike. We may get a new knife type, like Kukri in the Kilowatt Case. But getting a new type of item? That’s huge!

Charms are dangling attachments to CS2 weapons that can be used on different parts of the gun’s body. They sure create a special atmosphere in your matches.

For now, there are two types of CS2 charms:

  • Sausage people of different colors and with different expressions;
  • Mini copies of CS2 weapons.

New Weapon Collections

With the Armory update, CS2 gets three new weapon collections. Each of them contains 16 new skins.

  • Overpass Collection

It’s inspired by graffiti on one of the popular CS2 maps, Overpass. The guns in this collection include AK-47, AWP, Dual Berettas, and more. The skins have bright colors and images of various creatures, like funny monsters or floating dragons. Even weapon finishes with low rarity look pretty awesome.

The art style of these CS2 skins is based on the techniques of traditional printed media. The collection speaks of colorful extravaganza and geometric forms—specifically in the rare skins (Covert, Classified, and Restricted). You’ll find an amazing AWP | CMYK skin here, which perfectly reflects the concept of the whole collection. Skins like M4A4 | Polysoup have graffiti vibes: inscriptions and fun images.

  • Sport and Field Collection

Competition is the main inspiration for these Counter-Strike 2 weapon skins. Just like the entire game, it’s a very important topic! Even if you don’t plan to become an esports professional, the core of all CS2 matches is still competition. The collection reflects this idea through bright colors, which remind players of powerful energy and dedication. Even low-rarity Sport and Field skins look nice. For example, AWP | Zeno is Mil-Spec level, and it has wonderful details on its body.

There’s a new addition to the CS2 cases. Gallery includes 17 new skins, in traditional art styles.

Elemental & Craft CS2 Stickers. Scrape Preview

The Armory update adds a few new stickers to Counter-Strike 2. This collection has been named Elemental & Craft. It comes with a practical feature! Now, you can check what a CS2 sticker looks like after it’s been scraped. This should help you make the best decisions without destroying the appearance of your items.

Gameplay Changes in the CS2 Armory Update

All the details of the Armory update can be found on this official page. Here, we can highlight the most significant changes.

  • A lot of improvements have been made to the game animations. Many players have noticed that this affects the movement in CS2 quite significantly. It looks and feels different, in a good way.
  • Flashbangs and HE grenades do not have early explosions now. This effect was caused by reaching the bouncing limit. The developers have fixed that.
  • The CS2 maps have had important fixes. It’s a good idea to explore them and be ready for the new environment.

The Armory update focuses on the cosmetics more than practical changes. The Armory pass feels like a fresh idea, even if it’s not a proper CS2 operation. Stay tuned to DMarket Blog for more Counter-Strike 2 news and updates!
