CS:GO Crosshair Settings (Complete Guide 2021)

For shooter players, weapon’s are one of the most critical ingame elements. CS:GO is no exception, as players use different weapons in various situations to get success. The easiest way to customize your crosshair is to do it via settings. Developers allow you to change your sight with various colors, sizes, dynamic styles, etc. Follow this path to find it:

  1. Open CS:GO

  • Crosshair Style - choose one of the five different crosshairs presets with predefined options by developers.
  • Center Dot - the small dot in the center of sight, which helps someone to aim.
  • Length - the indicator of the length of your crosshair, from 0.1 (small) to 10 (big).
  • Thickness - the index of how wide your sight will be, from 0.1 (slim) to 6 (very wide).
  • Gap - with this feature, you can choose how close the sightlines will be to each other. Score -5 (very close) and 5 (far away).
  • Outline - the black outline around the crosshair. You can turn it on or off, and choose via the index from 0 (slim) to 3 (wide).
  • Red/Green/Blue - color indexes, play with these features to find the best color for you. Changing from 0 to 250.
  • Alpha - this is the index of your crosshair transparency, you can turn it on or off. Change the alpha from 0 (invisible) to 255 (clearly seen).
  • Split Distance - with this indicator, you can adjust the dynamic sight magnification. It starts from 0 (minimal) to 16 (very big).
  • Inner Split Alpha - with this parameter, you can change the transparency of the inner part of your dynamic crosshair. It starts from 0 (invisible) to 1 (clearly seen).
  • Outer Split Alpha - with this parameter, you can change the transparency of the outer part of your dynamic crosshair. It starts from 0 (invisible) to 1 (clearly seen).
  • Split Size Ratio - options that allow you to change the split size between the inner and outer parts of your dynamic crosshair. It starts from 0 (without split) to 1 (max of the split size).
  • T Style - choose the crosshair’s terrorist-style, it will delete the top line of the sight.
  • Displayed Weapon Gap - with this feature, your crosshair will be dynamic based on the weapon which you are currently using.

Via Console and CFG

For people who want to deeply customize their in-game settings, CS:GO has a developer console and cfg files. The console enables the possibility to change a large number of settings, including sight adjustment. To use the console, press ~ to open it; if nothing happens after pressing, activate the console through the game settings.

Choose the Game Settings and select yes in the section Enable Developer Console.

CSGO Crosshair Commands

cl_crosshairstyle

This command is responsible for the crosshair in terms of performing during shooting/running. Can be from 0 to 5, where:

  • cl_crosshairstyle 0 - default
  • cl_crosshairstyle 1 - default static
  • cl_crosshairstyle 2 and cl_crosshairstyle 3 - dynamic when you shoot or move
  • cl_crosshairstyle 4 - full static
  • cl_crosshairstyle 5 - semi-static

cl_crosshair_t

With this command, you can remove the top line of your crosshair so it will look like a letter T. There are just two options:

  • cl_crosshair_t 0 - normal crosshair
  • cl_crosshair_t 1 - without top line

cl_crosshaircolor

This command changes the color; here are the examples:

  • cl_crosshaircolor 0 - red
  • cl_crosshaircolor 1 - green
  • cl_crosshaircolor 2 - yellow
  • cl_crosshaircolor 3 - blue
  • cl_crosshaircolor 4 - cyan
  • cl_crosshaircolor 5 - custom

cl_crosshairsize

This command is responsible for the size of the crosshair.

cl_crosshairthickness

With this command, you can choose the thickness of the crosshair lines.

cl_crosshairgap

This command sets the distance between the center of the screen and crosshair lines.

cl_crosshairdot

With this command, you can enable or disable a dot in the middle of the crosshair. There are only two options:

  • cl_crosshairdot 1 - enable

  • cl_crosshairdot 0 - disable

cl_crosshairalpha

This command identifies the level of crosshair’s transparency. Values ​​can range from 0 to 255, where 0 is invisible and 255 completely visible.

cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue

Using this command, the size of the crosshair can be adjusted depending on the selected weapon, where:

  • cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue 1 - enable

  • cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue 0 - disable

cl_crosshair_drawoutline

The command is used to enable or disable a black outline to the crosshair, where:

  • cl_crosshair_drawoutline 1 - enable

  • cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0 - disable

cl_crosshair_outlinethickness

This command controls the thikness of the outline, so you can choose the value between 0 and 3. The default value is 1.

crosshair console commands

Another way to change the sight is to add specific commands to the game file config. The instruction is here:

  1. Create a txt file
  2. Add console commands to your txt file
  3. Save your txt file as autoexec.cfg
  4. Save .cfg files to your folder
  • Program Files\Steam\userdata[your Steam ID]\730\local\cfg\

or in some cases -

  • Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg\

IMPORTANT: All console commands can be written in .cfg files, the only difference you should take into account is that the commands end with ; in the console, but there is no such symbol in a configuration file.

Here’s an example of the difference between console and cfg commands:

  • Console command cl_crosshairstyle 1
  • CFG command cl_crosshairstyle “1”
