FaZe Power in Moscow - Epicenter 2018 Results

The Epicenter 2018 CS:GO tournament which took place in Moscow from 23rd to 28th of Oсtober at the CSKA Arena has come to an end. The total prize value of the tournament was $300 000.

Eight teams participated in the tournament, with such big names as Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan and Team Liquid among them.

However, two teams declined to take part: European mix Mousesports and the champions of previous FaceIT Major London 2018 – Astralis from Denmark.

The format of the tournament consisted of two stages: group and playoff.

Group Stage

The group stage took place from 23rd to 25th of Oсtober in a Double Elimination (GSL) format.

Group A:

  1. Natus Vincere - 2 | 0 (2:1 vs HR, 2:0 vs FaZe Clan)
  2. FaZe Clan - 1 | 1 (2:1 vs ENCE, 0:2 vs Na’Vi)
  3. HellRaisers 1 | 1 (1:2 vs Na’Vi, 2:1 vs ENCE)
  4. ENCE 0 | 2 (1:2 vs FaZe Clan, 1:2 vs HR)

Group B:

  1. Team Liquid 2 | 0 (2:0 vs SP, 2:0 vs Avangar)
  2. AVANGAR 1 | 1 (2:1 vs NiP, 0:2 vs Team Liquid)
  3. NiP 1 | 1 (1:2 vs AVANGAR, 2:0 vs SP)
  4. SP 0 | 2 (0:2 vs Team Liquid, 0:2 vs NiP)

Playoff Stage

The playoff stage took place on the 27th and 28th of Oсtober in a single elimination bracket format. Teams that came first in their groups got a spot in the semifinal, while the others began their playoff stage from the quarter final.

Though FaZe Clan lost to Natus Vincere in the group stage and started out from the quarterfinal, the fivesome from Europe managed to show perfect Counter Strike skills against all teams in the playoff stage and defeated two main opponents in this tournament: Team Liquid in the semifinal and Natus Vincere in the final.

The next tournament bringing the best teams from all over the world together will be Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Chicago, and it will take place in the USA from the 6th to 11th of November.

Asides from CS:GO tournaments, the first Dota 2 minor tournament – DreamLeague Season 10 is in full swing. Teams are battling for $300 000 and a pass to upcoming The Kuala Lumpur Major.
