10 Most Exciting Releases of August 2018

Each and every month is packed with awesome game releases. So many virtual adventures are just around the corner, but we may not know about them and miss out on the fun and joy.

Gamers from the DMarket team don’t like missing these things. And we don’t want DMarket users missing them too! That’s why we’ve prepared this list of great upcoming games in August 2018 to let you know what is going on in the industry and what to pick up for your exciting gaming time.

Playing these and other games may help to develop various skills, and you could become even better in such profitable games as Dota 2 and CS:GO; they’re some of the top ways to earn more by selling skins on DMarket!

This Is the Police 2 (August 2)

This continuation of a successful indie game invites players to organize police activity in a small town somewhere in virtual reality. The main hero of the first game helps the local sheriff to handle her tough job. The gameplay is based on many strategic decisions but also includes lots of cutscenes — be ready to begin your in-game days with pieces of the plot.

The developers from Weappy Studio announced the release of This Is the Police 2 on August 2 but managed to roll it out earlier; the game appeared in Steam on the last day of July. It’s available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and, of course, PC and Mac.

WarioWare Gold (August 3)

Bowser is not the only opponent Mario faces. There also is an evil opposition of the legendary plumber, Wario. Do you know him?

Wario has decided to get some extra cash with micro-games. He proposes many different tasks for gamers in his virtual playing left. Those games are really small, but they ask for perfect skills — in quite a hilarious way. Players earn coins and spend them on different entertainment from Wario.

Overcooked 2 (August 7)

Players are trying to cook something together in a virtual world; this task asks for co-operation, active communication, and coordination. This is the Overcooked series in short. Its bright, colorful style, fun multiplayer features, many recipes, and weird conditions surrounding cooking helped it to gain popularity and become an indie gaming hit.

Overcooked 2 offers the option of online multiplayer and many new recipes and features. The game gets versions for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.

We Happy Few (August 10)

What would you do if you appeared in a horrible city of drug-addicted citizens? Make your decisions in this game! Everyone around your hero is living in a hallucination; they are aggressive towards normal people, who see the world without the veil of illusion.

In We Happy Few, players control one of three characters, help them to fight on the streets, craft new melee weapons, accomplish different tasks, and develop various abilities. The game will be available for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.

We Happy Few is a bit similar to the game Vampyr — in both, one character is against almost the whole city.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season (August 14)

The girl Clementine lives in a world of zombies, which is not a very exciting experience…. Still, it turned out to be super interesting to help Clementine in this video game to develop her destiny.

The Walking Dead series is a graphic adventure, where players watch the story through many cutscenes, selecting branches of dialogue trees, exploring the dangerous world, and choosing various actions now and then. The gaming world already saw three seasons of The Walking Dead. This installment is the first episode of four in the Final Season.

The game is available for PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth (August 14)

This is the seventh expansion in WoW. With it, players will be able to play the extended story campaign, based on a massive war between the Horde and Alliance. Control huge armies in their legendary fight and enjoy many new gameplay features. Try to develop your hero to level 120 (only 110 previously).

Like with other expansions, Blizzard put significant effort into creating great content for World of Warcraft — lots and lots of new stuff wait for players, both experienced and newbies.

The game WoW is playable on PC and Mac computers.

F1 2018 (August 24)

The racing championship of Formula 1 happens every year, and it’s the same with official games in the F1 series, which contain all the teams, drivers, and tracks.

The game F1 2018 is based on the season of this year. Players can even try and create new history, choose their favorites, and make them champions, regardless of the situation in reality. Career mode and multiplayer features make this release worthy of racing fans’ attention.

You can buy F1 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

PES 2019 (August 28)

Sports video games are not at the peak of popularity, but still they have lots of fans. Do you enjoy virtual soccer? Then this game may be exactly what you are waiting for.

PES 2019 contains even more leagues to play in, many licensed stadiums, and a huge variety of soccer stars. Make your virtual career or play with friends on PC, PS4, or Xbox One.

This game is published by Konami, a famous Japanese company. The DMarket blog has an interesting article connected with it: Cracking the Konami Code.

Re-Released Games

If you have a PC, you may not care about releases for PS4 and Xbox One. Then, when the same titles are released for your system, this becomes their second birth — at last these games finally become playable for you! This happened to No Man’s Sky and NieR: Automata recently; these games were re-released for Xbox One. Here are a couple of significant re-releases in August 2018:

Yakuza 0 (August 1)

For a long time, this game series was an exclusive for PlayStation, but now PC gamers can play it too. Yakuza 0 was first released for PS3 and PS4. Here we have a Windows version at last.

Yakuza 0 is all about the Japanese mafia. The main hero is involved in a criminal plot, he fights feverishly, and he enjoys all sorts of entertainment, like dancing in a nightclub or playing a racing arcade game. The open world of Yakuza 0 and its spirit of criminal life reminds of the GTA and Mafia game series.

Also, it’s worth mentioning other installments of the Yakuza games re-released this month: Yakuza 3 (9th of August) and Yakuza Kiwami 2 (28th of August). They will be available for PlayStation 4 game consoles.

Monster Hunter: World (August 9)

Dangerous monsters are threatening the virtual world, and one bold hunter will try and kill them all. That hero can become successful in this mission only with you on their side! Explore the wonderful virtual world, hunt for simple creatures, collect items, improve your gear, and then hunt really powerful monsters….

Monster Hunter: World has been released for PS4 and Xbox One first. Now all PC gamers get the chance to enjoy this new installment of the legendary series.
