Some highly anticipated games are planned for release in October 2018. You might hear about them from various gaming conferences or see their promising trailers. Now, it’s time for the ultimate step – to become one of those who play your desired title first.
DMarket blog will help with this! Here is our list of the most interesting upcoming releases. It’s a kind of sequel to our collection of the most exciting games of September 2018.
Forza Horizon 4 (October 2)
The street-racing Horizon Festival moves to the United Kingdom! Take one of 450 licensed cars and participate in competitions of single- and multiplayer modes. Of course, not all autos are unlocked from the very start. As usual in racing games, players develop their virtual career, open new races and new vehicles, join tougher tournaments, and discover additional features of the game.
The game has dynamic weather and season systems in its open world. Unlike The Crew 2, here we have cars and only cars – no motorbikes or airplanes. This a decent example of the classic racing genre.
Forza Horizon 4 will be available for Xbox One and Windows computers – here is the official page for purchasing.
Mega Man 11 (October 2)
This action-platformer is part of the great and well-known series. First games with Mega Man appeared for 8-bit consoles (NES), and the current installment continues the best traditions, but it brings much-improved graphics and developed mechanics. The hero in the blue battle suit explores eight quite big and very beautiful stages. With its powerful weapons, he destroys robotic enemies, fights evil bosses, and tries to stop terrible plans of the main enemy, Dr. Wily.
The game is definitely interesting for those who have played the early entries. If you haven’t, consider trying remastered Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2. Or, forget about the prehistory and enjoy the newest game as it is.
Mega Man 11 will get versions for various systems: PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Buy the game through the official site.
Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise (October 2)
In this post-apocalyptic world, there is the city of Eden, with cruel and very dangerous people. The main hero has a mission – to find his beloved one. He will demolish everyone who is stupid enough to stand in the way. The adventure is filled with powerful battles in the style of classic fighting games – the developer is Sega, one of the best in this genre. Still, here are lots of explorations as well, that makes the game similar to another Sega creation – Yakuza series.
The graphics here are quite colorful, and the fights are full of blood splashes and energy explosions. The set reminds a bit of Cyberpunk 2077 – the same alternative future.
This game will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Have a look at its official site for more details and to buy Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (October 5)
One of the most popular game series gets a new wonderful installment. Now, Assassin’s Creed moves to Ancient Greece, in the period of the Peloponnesian War. Players will be able to choose the gender for the main character, and during the following adventures, the game will propose making various choices. With this entry, the series shifts strongly toward the role-playing genre.
Of course, we can expect a lot from this triple-A title – such a release is a significant event for the whole gaming community. First, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was announced at E3 2018.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be playable on most modern devices: PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Here is the game’s official site.
Super Mario Party (October 5)

Spin Joy Cons to help your hero to win a cycling race. Dance with favorite characters to accomplish rhythmic missions. Demonstrate miracles of teamwork to reach common goals.
The game is playable with a few Nintendo Switch devices at the same time. One of the previous games with the same famous character, Super Mario Odyssey, became one of the top games of 2017.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (October 12)
For the first time, the game of this shooting series has no campaign mode – only special single-player missions, which are a kind of preparations to multiplayer battles. Also for the first time, CoD characters have no automatic health regeneration, making them more similar to guys from CS:GO, but with classes of Specialists, like Team Fortress 2 heroes.
There will be various options for multiplayer battles. For example, players might fight with friends against bloodthirsty zombies. Also, following the current gaming trend, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will have a Battle Royale mode, named Blackout.
Fans of the FPS genre definitely should pay attention to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4! Get it for PS4, Xbox One or PC through this official page.
Lego DC Super-Villains (October 16)
In the world of Lego blocks, horrible powers threaten the Earth. Great superheroes of the Justice League are away, so supervillains of the Injustice League should change their habits and try to stop an even bigger evil than they are.
This game is an action-adventure of a classic Lego games style (especially Lego Batman trilogy). Of course, it can’t compete in realism of the characters, in hugeness of the world, and in vastness of possibilities with the game Marvel’s Spider-Man. Still, Lego DC Super-Villains is a fun and colorful adventure with quite an unusual plot.
Lego DC Super-Villains will be released for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Visit the purchase page to choose your version.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas (October 16)
Get your virtual starship, explore the Atlas star system, and battle countless enemies. The colorful open world of this game is visually similar to that of No Man’s Sky, but it proposes much more action adventures and even quite an interesting story of fighting against the evil Forgotten Legion. Are you ready for explorations and riveting space battles?
The game gives lots of possibilities to customize your ship – even with real toys, which add useful components to your digital equipment. Also, you are not controlling a blank machine. There are live pilots inside, with various personalities, abilities, and backstories. This aspect adds a special spirit to the whole game. One of the interesting features here is a split-screen multiplayer, which is a rare thing for modern games.
After the release, Starlink: Battle for Atlas will be available only for game consoles: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch – buy the game through the official site.
Red Dead Redemption 2 (October 26)
Wild West adventures are quite fascinating, especially if they developed by Rockstar Games, authors of the GTA series. In Red Dead Redemption 2, players control Arthur Morgan, a gangster. After a failed robbery, this guy runs from the law, explores the open world of virtual America, and commits crimes to survive. He will make many decisions, and they will build his unique destiny.
The game is visually and technically beautiful. It is one of the most promising projects of recent time – to know it in detail, read our review of Red Dead Redemption 2 here.

Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game
This game is based on the story by H. P. Lovecraft, a famous horror fiction author, and also on the role-playing game from the early 1980s – both named Call of Cthulhu. The hero here is a private detective Edward Pierce. His life is falling apart because of alcohol, so the man takes one of the last chances and tries to solve a case of a dead family. They all died in a fire under mysterious circumstances. The case leads Edward to Darkwater Island, where scary and mystical events take place during the game.
